Pendidikan Nilai Agama: Membangun Kesadaran Pluralisme di Kalangan Pelajar Sekolah Dasar

Abstract

This research explores the role of religious education in shaping pluralism awareness among elementary school students. Using a literature review approach, we analyzed findings related to religious education at the elementary school level and its implications for fostering pluralism awareness. Literature highlights that religious education at this level aims to introduce moral principles, religious values, and foster an understanding of the dominant religious values in their environment. The implications for pluralism awareness indicate that an inclusive and comprehensive religious education curriculum can form a strong foundation for developing attitudes of tolerance, appreciation, and inclusivity towards differences. The relationship between religious education and pluralism awareness shows a significant correlation. Teaching methods, in-depth religious understanding, and support from the school and family environment play an important role in shaping pluralism awareness among elementary school students. Comparative analysis with case studies supports the literature's findings. The implementation of an inclusive, comprehensive, and diverse religious education method has shown a positive impact on shaping pluralism awareness, despite challenges such as limited resources and resistance to curriculum changes. In conclusion, religious education plays a vital role in shaping attitudes of tolerance, inclusivity, and appreciation for diversity among elementary school students. Efforts to strengthen the implementation of an inclusive and comprehensive curriculum need to be continually enhanced, supported by collaboration among educational institutions, government, families, and the community to create an environment conducive to fostering a stronger pluralism awareness in the future
