This research explores the impact of digital technology on students' social interactions in the context of Islamic religious education in the digital era. Through the analysis of relevant literature and information sources, the study identifies significant changes in student interaction patterns influenced by digital technology. Positive impacts include increased access to learning resources, the ability to participate in online discussions, and learning flexibility. However, there are also negative effects, such as distractions from social media and potential reductions in the depth of student social interactions. The research aims to provide relevant recommendations to address the impact of digital technology on student social interactions. Recommendations include expanding the use of social interaction-focused learning platforms, implementing digital literacy education, emphasizing the vital role of teachers as facilitators of social interactions, and developing students' social skills through collaborative projects and discussions. These recommendations are based on established educational theories, such as social constructivism, digital distraction theory, social interaction theory in learning, and collaborative learning theory. In conclusion, this research highlights the importance of understanding and managing the impact of digital technology on student social interactions in Islamic religious education. These recommendations can serve as guidelines for educators, education policymakers, and practitioners in designing effective educational strategies in the evolving digital era
